Forum: Employer’s Growing Talent through Apprenticeship, November 15

Date: November 15, 2018

Time: 9:00 am

In recognition of National Apprenticeship Week, the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services, the Little Rock Regional Chamber, and the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce will host an employer forum on apprenticeship the morning of November 15, 2018 at the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub. Since apprenticeships have expanded across all industry sectors and occupations, this free event is for any and all employers interested in learning more about the value of apprenticeships.

Attendees will hear from subject matter experts (SMEs) and experienced employers as they discuss the ins and outs of apprenticeship, how and why it works, what it takes to get started, and what resources are available to assist in the process. The agenda includes an employer panel featuring representatives from companies currently implementing apprenticeship programs in Arkansas including First Orion, Tyson Foods, Grisham One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning, and the National Apprenticeship Training Foundation. Employers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with SMEs during targeted Q&A sessions following the panel.

At the end of the event, there will be a ceremony to celebrate the launch of First Orion’s new software developer apprenticeship program and to recognize the Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area as an official apprenticeship sponsor.
